Luis Grijalva was an absolute rocket down the last 100

Amazing recap! Jacob was out for blood! He ran that “let me send a message race”, letting the world know that he is at the top of distance running right now.

Luis Grijalva was so poised, got eaten by the pack, then remembered his motivation and came back to win fourth!

This is the best running commentary I’ve ever heard. The energy, passion and insight was perfect. Chef’s Kiss 👩‍🍳 💋.

I'm surprised you didn't Luis Grijalva once... He ran the race of his life and ran upfront majority of the race. Despite falling back in the late stages of the race he bounced back and finished very strong.

I disagree with the idea that Ingebrigtsen was far from everybody else in term of speed over 5k. His pb is 12:48 and he had a big kick in that race where he destroyed Katir, Chepteguei and more. If the race had kept on with the fast pace he would still have been a very likely winner. Great cover of the race though thanks !

If you want to see the perfekt kick at the end of a race just watch the last 3 km of the european championchips marathon a few days ago. That was phenomenal!

Amen on your reference to sportsmanship Nick!

The runner who got 4th was by far the most visible runner during the race. He was front and center of the image 90 % of the time, always either 2nd, 3rd, or 4th until about a lap and a half, then falling behind but then showing an incredible kick to get 4th. Yet he was never mentioned. Not once. Several times every single runner in the image would be mentioned, including people who ended up far behind him.
How can you explain that? Even the very fact that having a new and small country there along the African, North American, and European usual suspects should catch your eye. But you don't even need that. The guy WAS RIGHT THERE THE WHOLE TIME AND FINISH UP THERE AT THE END! Sorry, but as Spanish American with some experience dealing with people from the US, I have to say this is very common: for some reason people from places such as Guatemala seem to have invisible properties... I know it's par for the course, but still, you'd expect better from a video made by a former professional runner.

You didn’t notice Gryvalia. The guy had the most amazing final 200

This race from Jakob reminds me of moe fara’s 2017 10k final when he sat back then waved the crowd on

Awesome commentary Nick. Maybe next time try adding some statistics about laps, like average pace (km or miles per hour, or minutes), and maybe turn down a bit the volume of background music (there were like 2 soundtracks). Thanks Nick as always.

I am from Norway and have met Ingebrigtsen. I do athletics too, and hope I will run like him one day🤩

That was crazy…you could SEE the second the whole pack speed up the second they hit the 200m left.
