As a 10 year old reading this in a library many yrs ago. I hoped someone could make a movie for it. So glad to be alive to see.

Seeing part 1 in IMAX was incredible.
I went in expecting another CGI fest of a movie because I'd become jaded by more recent movies.
The cinematography, the soundtrack, the visuals and the sound effects were so well polished and atmospheric that i didn't once look at my wristwatch, waiting for it to end.

I actually love how they've made Paul into a more reckless and arrogant boy, rather than have him be more regal and enigmatic in the book. I've gotten to the point in the book where it almost feels like Paul can't do anything wrong, whereas in the movies, he feels like a seriously flawed character that has the opportunity to grow.

The first part was a masterpiece and Im so looking forward to the continuation of the story. Ive told people Dune is not only the best science fiction movie I have ever seen but one of the best movies in general Ive ever seen.
