Flexi Rods Heatless Curls

There are many heatless curlers that have being created over the years. There is everything from curls formers, to silk hair curlers, to flower hair curlers… Today we’re looking at another very popular rendition of heatless curlers, the Flexi Rods.
Flexi Rods are a heatless curler made from a spongey material that are extremely flexible to wrap around hair and itself to secure. The rods come in various sizes to produce from a tight ringlet curl to a soft loose wave. They do not produce any kinks in the hair, which is something other curlers have an issue with.
One of the issues with these is the ends of the hair are not secured. You will need hair “glue” to adhere the ends of the hair to the Flexi Rods and it works great. The other issue is that they are very tight in the hair and you could get a headache. Plus, it would be hard to sleep with these curlers.

Looks great! You can achieve a looser "beachier" wave if you use less of them with bigger sections of hair. I have the silk version of these and I only use 4-6. I wear them in the shower on non-hair-washing days and the steam helps set them. Then I just leave them in for an hour or so and hit them with the dryer before I take them out. I agree that they'd be impossible to sleep in!

I use a curl foam to wrap the ends depending on the curl, but I'll also leave the ends straight for beach waves. I love flexirods because there are so many ways to use them. I use them to set my curls when I curl my hair with a flat iron as well. They're easy to sleep on if you're used to it. I usually use no more than six.💜

I have used these off and on for years. I had a period of time pre pandemic when I would just put in about 7 and drive to work like that. I would take them out in the parking lot and finger comb before going inside. I got a nice wave this way. Thanks for the product tips! I’m going to try them.

The products you used are really amazing for moisture retention, shine and holding the curls. Rods are wonderful but used with great products and technique, that's goals.

Wow I remember when I was in eighth grade copying your short hairstyles since I couldn't grow my hair too long before my teacher would make me have it cut short as a boy, you inspired me so much, now that I'm in college I've grown my hair to my waist and had it cut back to a bob again, my how things change with time!

Grandfather! Grandfather! It is definitely giving “It’s a good chip, lollipop” vibes. I used these when I gave myself a body wave back in the late 90’s, I’m pretty sure. It looks fantastic on you (I actually don’t like beach wave look on anyone) and I like that the curl doesn’t fall out at the bottom. Thanks for the review.
