It may sound unbelievable but John Hinckley Jr., the man who attempted to assassinate President Reagan in 1981, today, is a guitarist with an album on Spotify. He has a show coming up in July. Would you go to it?

I remember the day…. I was 17 years old working after school in an electronics store…. The store filled up with people passing by to try to find out what was happening. Don’t forget James Brady, who wound up spending the rest of his life in a wheel chair from his wounds.

I'm not against giving criminals second chances. However, I am reluctant to trust mentally unbalanced people who have demonstrated a propensity for violence when their thinking goes awry.

If you gave me 100 attempts to guess what Max’ next video would be on, I’d certainly fail to guess it would be on John Hinkley lol.

I was in México just about to return to Fresno California and finish High School in 1981. I love our California governor and the first President I voted for Ronald Reagan!

I’m all for forgiveness and redemption but I heard a sample of one of his songs and it was enough for me to dismiss him as a musician regardless of what he has done in the past. The music, standing on its own, is just not something I want to support.

I'm all about giving people a second chance. I was too young to vote for Reagan but was as supportive as a high school stoner/ musician could be. Hopefully Hinckley has made an honest turn for the better and is no real threat to society anymore and, finally I hope his music doesn't suck.

I would think it is okay for him to perform in public. I, personally, would not be interested in seeing his show

Well, I just hope that Ian Watkins of Lostprophets won't receive the same opportunity after jailtime, the guy is messed up af

Hes paid his debt to society...BUT...he should not be allowed to profit from his heinous crime. As long as his music does not touch upon his infamous act, I see no issue with him singing and playing music. Thanks. MAX, for the stimulating question!

Good job on video Guitar Max! Let’s not forget some of our greatest musicians have broken laws and spent years in prison, only later to get out and give us some of the best songs and performances ever! Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, etc…. Where would the modern Church be if Paul’s letters to the early church had been censored because he formerly killed many of its followers. Yes, the apostle Paul killed many innocent people and had a meeting with Jesus who forgave him and gave him a new life, a new job, and new gifts. So, yes I say forgive him and support his recovery. I believe Ronald Regan would support that that too being a former believer.❤️🙏

I'm a Reagan supporter and I have no problem with it. I say this because mental illness is no joke. It can flat out make you a different person than you truly are. Don't continue punishing someone for something they had no control over at the time.

TRIVIA TIME... DEVO essentially ruined the original run of their career by taking a Hinckley poem and making a song out of it. It was called "I Desire" and was on their "OH NO! It's DEVO!" album. I believe this was less than a year since the shooting happened. Great example of "TOO SOON".

It's certainly not up to me to decide what anyone can or cannot do or if someone is mentally fit or not but what I can do is not pay any mind to someone's terrible music.

Every guitar player I've met has been at least, if not a lot crazy.

When John Hinckley's show opens in July, and he takes the stage, is he going to yell "Sic semper tyrannis!"? I was 36 when he shot Reagan. Been up to me, he would have stayed locked up until he died! And, no...I did NOT vote for Reagan.

For the same reason, they didn't let Charles Manson out of prison this guy should never have seen the light of day. I hope I'm wrong but I won't be surprised to be reading about him again if he ever goes off his Meds.
