He celebrated his 73 birthday on Aug 28, 2021, we celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary Sep 13, 2021 and he passed away Sep 30, 2021. Pushing 70 year old Marine here, bawling like a kid who dropped an ice cream. Lost the love of my life when she was 23, to leukemia. There has not been a day she has not been felt in my heart. The void does not get refilled. Life trudges on... This is the saddest song ever, in a way, but, I think, it shows we need to rejoice on what we had, not lament the loss. Easier said than done. You have officially heard the Saddest Song Ever Written. Period. Honey is sentimental and adorable and he thinks its cute and funny. She is upset that she wrecked the car and is crying hoping he isn't mad at her. He couldn't stay mad at her if he tried. He loved her very much, and now that he looks back at all the cute and adorable things she did, he really appreciates how sweet and sentimental she is. I always wanted a relationship like that but I got the opposite. I think she had a terminal illness and loved him so much she couldn't bear to break the news to him. This song has had me choked up since it came out when I was about six years old.
