If you have a large vinyl record collection, how do you go about choosing what to listen to? With hundreds or thousands of records, option paralysis is a total thing. In this video, I share a few methods I've used over the year, including my current one. I also share how and why I track every record I spin.

Let me know how you choose what to listen to in the comments below!

Every time I get a new record I write the name down on a little slip of paper and put it in a jar. So when I feel like listening to something through complete random selection I pull a slip from the jar. Otherwise when I know the exact mood of what I want to listen to I can usually make a selection pretty easily.

I'd love to see a video about what people do while they play records at home. Household chores? Video games? Sit and stare at the album cover & lyrics? (actually those are pretty much the things I do, haha)

I’m a new subscriber and I’ve been making my way through your videos. I notice a kindred spirit in your borderline OCD in your setup and home. So I have a question I always ask members of the VC. Do you have any standard by which you decide whether or not you’ll purchase a used record. I notice all the ones I’ve seen have been new pressings. When you buy used are you ok with corner dings? Ring wear? What about quality of wax? Vg+ and higher? Are you ok with crackle ? Just thought I’d ask. Love the videos!

I came here following Foul Quince's shout out to you on Physical Format Rock and Roll's challenge to name two channels that need more subs. He described this as the thinking collectors channel. Gotta say, he wasn't wrong. I think I'm going to like it here.

Hey fairly new sub here, my collection is pretty small, 30-40 records atm. Started collecting 2 years ago or so. So I usually just pick whatever record I’m in the mood for, or just listen to all of them front to back if I have the time for it. I try to do something productive while listening, but sometime I just sit down and enjoy the quality of the sound on my soundsystem.

I reallt like your channel, looking forward to more videoes!🙌🏼

Would like to give u a recommandation, if u like. Burial - Untrue, amazing record. Got a hold of it on vinyl last year. Allways a pleasure listening.

Hey, Andy. Wasn’t sure how else to reach out, but I’m having a SXSW house show on Thursday, 3/14. BBQ, maybe 20-30 friends. My new favorite band, Fust, from North Carolina is going to play a set. I know it’s a three hour drive, but if you can make it down, you’re invited. I can send over my email if you’re interested. Holler, my mustache’d brother
