hi Valeria, what if I don't have a "real" passion? I enjoy baking and studying languages, but after listening to you description of a not "real" passion, i feel like it fits into that category. I have never been VERY interested in something, only mildly interested in MANY things. Because of this i get very anxious when thinking of choosing majors.

As someone who has depression, I really don't understand how I'm supposed to figure things out. If we're talking about real passion and what I believe I have passion in, then I really can't tell the difference. Because there are a lot of things I like, but I hardly ever do any of them. And about already imagining myself in that career... I can't tell the difference between it being passion or maladaptive daydreaming. So what the hell should I do?

Very genuine advice, and after deciding what I did in the first year isn't for me, I have already found this advice very useful, and will go by my guts on finding the right course for me, here in UK.

Could you make a video but aimed at those of us who have not finished high school? Surely I am not the only one who despite my age, despite not having finished high school, being the head of the household, etc., is interested in being able to study as much as possible and is within my reach and why not improve my employability, having a better profile or with more opportunities. Maybe you could advise us what to study, that does not require a career and anyway it opens doors and gives us opportunities, maybe something for those who are good at math, something for those who are better in letters or are not so good with mathematics . I hope you keep it in mind for a next video.
Greetings.

I started thinking about what future I wanted since I was young, went through veterinary science phase, then it became fashion designer then arts then med then nursing then architectural design then finally law. Throughout these years I have somewhat tallied out everything except for law but knowing I’m so indecisive I’m not sure if taking law is the right choice.
A little background, I’m a high school student, all my grades are undesirable except for English and I made the grand mistake of choosing science subjects and later finding out that science subjects weren’t for me but by then it was too late. Currently I’m planning on studying foundation in law but I’m also doubting if I should, I’m scared I would make a mistake and choosing the wrong subject again and I don’t have money to make that mistake.
My reason for choosing law? My very typical Asian family, my own desires to study law and get a well paying and relaxing Jon after a bit of suffering after uni, law has many career options other than being a barrister or a solicitor( planning to become a solicitor because public speaking is is definitely not my thing either) plus I could also change my majors wi thin the same category if I feel LLB Law Hons isn’t for me.
But the overall problem as to why I don’t know what subject to chose mainly is because, I have no passion for anything, heck I don’t even feel there’s a meaning to life but I’ve practically tallied out other subjects and law is my final choice. Somebody help please cause I need to make my choice in a matter of around 2 months or less and I really don’t think I can afford to make a mistake

I didn't know what to do so i started thinking and i figured i have 3 main interests. Working with kids, sports and everything with human wellbeing (mind/body...) i wrote down all the classes that have anything to do with that and now i'm left with 13 choices! 13 is a lot but its much better than having absolutly no clue. I will start my research from this point 😂

Read my BIG 5:

1. Psychological B.S. or B.A. is useless without graduate school. Same thing for sociology and many other courses.

2. Persevering goes a long way. Never give up! Keep holding on.

3. Career counselors know nothing about your future. Going to see them is a waste of time. They will only confuse you more.

4. Make sure that your major lines up with your minor. In other words, do not major in sociology and minor in physical education. No relationship there. Ok? If you decide on sociology, for example, do this instead:

A. Select social work as a minor because both programs are related.

B. You must go beyond the B.A. or B.S. level. Otherwise, your degree is useless. The college knows this fact very well. Students are dollar bills with arms and legs. College is a business. They don't care about you and your future endeavors at all.

5. Again, major in something that is in demand. Honestly, teaching, medical field, computers, math, physics to name a few are always in great demand.

I hope this helps you.
