Remember, Paella is Spanish, not Portuguese. If you are in Portugal and they have Paella on the menu and they say it is a traditional Portuguese restaurant, please know that Paella is not traditionally Portuguese.

Please read before you comment: the issue here is that some tourist restaurants are making it appear that paella and patatas bravas are traditional Portuguese foods when they are actually Spanish dishes and tourists dont know the difference.
I have no problem with people eating Paella and patatas bravas, they are both super tasty. But they are not traditional Portuguese.
Also, the OK Paella sign is not the restaurants name, it is a brand of paella restaurants can buy and heat up for people. So its kind of like the prepackaged pizza version of paella.

Arroz de marisco is similar. They call it a paella, ingredients are similar, but slighly different with similar ingredients.

I had paella at Paellador in Lisbon and it was very tasty! I highly suggest it. No, they didn't claim it was authentic Portuguese but it sure tasted good anyway.

Hm does that mean I cannot go eating at a Greek restaurant, because I am in Germany? This restaurant there is already called OK Paella so I suppose it is ok

You want to help people and you warn them. You advise them how not to be fooled. Then, without thinking, some of them react with bizarre interpretations. Arrogance is composed of two elements: Ignorance and Impudence. Either way, life goes on. Thanks for the heads up sir!

Paella is not traditional in all of Spain. To some degree, yes, everybody has tried it. But in Valencia many families eat paella together every weekend. It's an "every weekend dish" so people there have a lot of practice doing it.

First rule for eating in Portugal, if you only see foreign tourists, don't eat in the restaurant, it's a trap for tourists, you'll pay a lot, and you won't eat anything good

Of course it's not Portuguese, here we have "Arroz de Marisco" seafood rice, for good Paella you have to go to Valencia, Spain. Not all Spain, Valencia is a place to go.
