These are so relaxing and satisfying to watch before sleeping, keep doing them!

Hiii in 5:03 they are actually cracks and ridges marking weak lines within the moon's ice crust, emphasised and exacerbated by the swelling and falling of tides due to Jupiter's gravitational pull. :)

This is a certified Space Chip classic.

Europa has a global ocean of liquid water under the scratchy lines you where talking about. They are actually cracks in its ice crust. Yes, there could possibly be life in its global subsurface ocean.

This is a classic video. Keep making videos about space exploration to keep me updated. Maybe they could discover something new.

The scratches on Europas surface is caused from a mix of salt and ice

25:30 The liquid is CO2 because that atmosphere pressure is so high. It becomes liquid at higher temperatures at higher pressures, just like water boils at lower temperatures with lower pressure.

As for Callisto, in reality the surface would be much less flat. Callisto is the most cratered body in Solar System and there are supposedly so many craters that there is no room for more of them, any new crater has to erase some older ones. There is thus pretty much no flat piece of land left.

The grooves on Europa's crust are primarily caused by the tensions produced by gravitational tidal forces generated by Jupiter and the other Galilean moons. These forces constantly deform Europa's surface, creating cracks and fractures in its icy crust.

There’s so many moments in this video where I was in complete awe, it’s amazing how our observable universe is SO SO big and yet we make our own problems seem bigger. Truly a though to behold

Side note: I just can’t believe somewhere it’s possible for A MOON to be bigger than earth and such a thick layer of clouds!
