As a diehard honda head who drives a civic i was upset for the longest time that Honda never liked doing anything with V8s since i thought a v8 honda pickup truck would be the illest. But their acura side is where all the cake is and i can rest easy knowing i can get my hands on this super beautiful mdx but in a dark dark red very soon

I've timed the Volvo XC90 T8 at 13.4s @ 105 mph by Dragy. He should be winning easily from both dig/roll.

Honda reliability… 10 years from now the Acura will be going with over 100, 000 miles and will still be able to do a drag race without having a check engine light on love my Honda. Hate the fact that they still use a timing belt on their engines.

The Acura 3.0V6T works well but it's a very thirsty engine. Even in the smaller and lighter TLX-S the fuel economy is abysmal.

Great review! I wish Acura produce the same or improved Hybrid trim for MDX Type S that it had on RLX Sport Hybrid, so it becomes more efficient and maybe even faster. In this case I 100% buy one. Yet it eats too much(

In the other race with the xc90 recharge, it beat the Kia ev9 and the Range Rover velar and the numbers of the Volvo were better.There is something wrong with this Volvo in this race.

Sam, did you think about ensuring the battery in the XC90 is charged? Each run the Volvo is slower because of battery depletion... You should do the test with battery topped.

Sam, since you mentioned the XC90 T8 battery was drained, how much power did it actually make for the drag race (It's about 316 hp in the T6)? Could that explain why it was so sluggish compared to its last appearance?

The Q7 wasn’t really built for racing. The SQ7 on the other hand is a monster and would absolutely destroy that Acura. If you get a stage 1 tune from Jackal Motorsports on the Q7 it completely changes the transmission and ECU and wakes the engine up and makes it a completely different vehicle. 0-60 in 4.3 seconds, and that’s just with a stage 1 with no other modifications just the tune. Then you can go and get a new stainless steel air intake, smaller supercharger pulley, and run a stage 2 and that Q7 will absolutely fly
