You don’t need oil for ground beef it has so much fat in it just start a lil lower temp and let some render out. Even if it’s like 90/10 it’ll still be plenty

As someone pointed out you DO NOT need any oil for ground beef as they usually contain a high % of fat in it that renders down, that being said make sure to drain it, too much of that fat it’ll mess with the taste and the texture.

We raise beef, we actually have to add water to our ground beef because it is that lean. It's crazy how nasty some of the store bought beef can be but if I had a choice between it or no beef I would definitely get the store bought stuff.

It’s actually mostly water, not excess fat, the meat is properly cooked when the water boils away and the meat fries in it’s own fat, then you can remove it if you want but because it isn’t being displaced by the water anymore it really isn’t that much
