Super Soco TC Max - Max Range test!

Thanks to Super SoCo I have this TC Max for a couple of weeks to test for a review. I have done a test of this bike to see how many miles you can get on a charge riding fast! This is a test to see how many miles we can get keeping the speed down!

Thanks for the informative video. Something people might not be aware of: longer range doesn't only mean less range anxiety, it also means less battery degradation on the same total mileage. There's not much information about battery degradation for EV's but I think with only 40ml of range with new batteries it is something to think about after 3 years of use or when you want to sell it.

I'm fairly certain the peak torque figure, 180N.m, is rear wheel torque as the motor (QS 138 70H) outputs 35-55N.m peak torque as quoted on the QS motor website.

You've illustrated well why EV mileage claim figures may disappoint customers riding in the real world and just as, for cars, MPG figures for fossil fuel were moved from an independent lab test developed in the 70s (NEDC) to something more fit for purpose (WLTP).

We need to do something similar for all electric vehicles to give confidence back to customers and close the gap between misleading official figures and those that could be attained at different speeds, gradients, acceleration, braking, realistic ambient temperatures and with power-sapping additions such as lights.

The good news is that such standardisation is (slowly) being considered!

Just to make a point, these battery's dont like to be continuously discharged to zero, always try to keep 10-15% in there, and keep it charged, if you leave it discharged at a really low level you can lose the ability to charge the battery, and thats not covered under the 3 year warranty, and Supersoco know if thats the case when they plug in the computer,
keep it charged and dont let it run down to zero

Novetech and Lidl was down that way a little while back for pc parts as well. The Lidl is quite nice inside. Obviously riding in the dark using headlights etc.. will drop the mileage as well, guess as to how much?

I'm commuting 23 miles each way daily and I was really hoping for more out of it on your soft ride test ... it's a shame, still like the idea of it though...😎👍
