In this video, we will guide you through Part B of your Biomechanical and Performance Analysis assignment. Please ensure you have obtained written consent from the athlete you are analysing before proceeding.

Task Overview:
Your objective is to select a specific movement or technique within a sport and perform a comprehensive biomechanical and performance analysis. You will act as a coach, while your partner (a fellow student, friend, or family member) will assume the role of the athlete.

Task Breakdown:

Video Recording:
With your partner, record a video capturing the chosen sport's specific movement or technique. Ensure that the recording provides a clear view of the movement.

Biomechanical Analysis:
a) Kinematics: Describe the motion of the movement without considering forces involved.

b) Kinetics: Analyse the motion in relation to forces, and examine how muscle activation occurs during the movement.

Performance Analysis:
Assess the performance from both qualitative and quantitative perspectives:

Qualitative: Observe and report subjectively on the performance, comparing it to an "ideal" execution of the movement (e.g., kick, punch, throw).

Quantitative: Objectively measure the performance using appropriate instruments such as a goniometer or the Coach's Eye App.

Literature Review:
Ensure that your findings adhere to "accepted norms" within the current literature. Cite and reference your sources according to the Swinburne Harvard style.

Drill Design:
Design a series of drills aimed at improving the athlete's performance within the chosen sport's technique.

Psychological Techniques Research:
Conduct research on psychology techniques that could enhance the athlete's performance, such as visualization or meditation.

Implementing Drills:
Implement the designed drills over a three-four week period, with the goal of improving the athlete's performance in the chosen technique.

Post-Training Video Analysis:
At the end of the training period, record another video of the specific movement and conduct a performance analysis to evaluate any improvements.

Recording Improvements:
Document any noticeable improvements observed in the athlete's performance.

Report Writing:
Write a comprehensive 500-word report (minimum) that covers the following sections:

-Title
-Introduction: Briefly describe the movement analysis and its significance.
-Assessment and Analysis: Present the results of the biomechanical and performance analysis, both qualitatively and quantitatively.
-Intervention: Detail the drills implemented and their impact on performance, including psychological techniques utilized.
-Discussion: Analyse and evaluate the results obtained, discussing any challenges and opportunities for further improvement.

Remember to follow the report format provided in class and ensure proper formatting, referencing, and citation according to the Swinburne Harvard style. Good luck with your assignment!
