This is an amazing invention and a blessing to people who need help with opening jars..if only we had more inventions like this to help us with painful chores..life would be bearable..oh..and everyone should utilize this, not just disabled people..this company needs to manufacture other products too..and if it's too expensive, probably offer a payment plan or something for people who need help and don't want to be dependent on someone in the family...who could also be disabled or have chronic pain.

one rubber textured glove(or 2), will work 99% of the time
just from personal experience if you take the hand slip out of the equation
your effective torque on the lid goes way up

I bought one of these and it worked great—twice. Then it broke. Waste of money.

Pickle jars & the like are filled with hot if not boiling produce, when it cools it creates a vacuum, the easiest way to open these jars is to place the tip of a butter knife under the rim & gently lever it upwards, if it doesn't work the first time try relocating the butter knife to a new section of lid, listen for the little popping sound, this will be the air rushing in, congrats, you've broken the vacuum seal & it will now open normally & quite easily.
