For gamers: switch your game to that language so you actively have to interact with it. Games like minecraft where it's more simple and less dialogue are good for vocabulary and characters if they use a different alphabet.

I love the label idea! That’s great! I’m going to try it, but I’m learning more than 1 language and it will get messy 😂

Learning slang is hardest to learn unless immersed and even still you have to have someone explain nuances and cultural differences.

I don’t know how ironic it is that nearly all the music I listen to is French.. except I’m not actually trying to learn French, I’m trying to learn Spanish. I don’t even speak French.

0:23 "To repeat out loud what you hear" is excellent, and I'd add if I may : Let's listen so closely and thoughtfully that we feel the words going through us, as if we were saying them - and then Yes : repeat them.
Excellente vidéo, Merci !

Native bilingual here, absolutely do all of these things. When i was in secondary school i took french for 6 years. Our french teacher would read the book in french and then translate it to my native tongue, and then to English. I did pretty well in those classes but it wasn't because i was learning french, it was because i could memorise the shape of words.

When that teacher took her 9 months maternity leave (yay Ireland) we got a new teacher who spoke to us in french the entire time and wouldn't translate to my native language since she barely spoke it.

I learned more french in those last 5 months of school than I did in 5 and a half years purely because i was in an environment where my other languages weren't really an option.

We read french magazines in class and it got to a point where I was choosing to change to french in my everyday life. I would randomly start naming things off in the house, watching tv with french audio and reading Bande Dessine. It really does make a huge difference.

I haven't spoken french in about a year now but i can still somewhat read it given a bit of time.

Wanna add: dont dive head first, your parents didnt teach u a language by reading u Frankenstein. They started small, point to an apple & say apple. Practice is key and so is familiarity, dont switch ur phone over day 1 for full immersion. But do switch it over once u know enough to use ur phone but still challenge urself

Disney+ has like all their content dubbed in just about every major language.

I found watching English language TV with the subtitles on was a good way to learn grammatically correct Spanish (even though when I became fluent I could see the translation itself wasn't very good).

I've been doing that with music from the beginning, and I can confirm it works! I'm not sure how much vocab I get from it besides random slang, but it absolutely helps with the accent and it's really fun

The fourth one is a really good tip I've never heard! I'm going to do that with Spanish and Tagalog

I'm learning English watching YT. It improves my pronuntiation, because I've already studied the language before but my pronuntiation wasn't very good.

Heres how im learning russian as someone fluent in 3 languages (english, tagalog and can understand spanish), first i learnt the alphabet and then how to pronounce it. If you are also learning russian i recommend listening to the russian alphabet song. Next i learnt some words and i practiced typing and writing them and their meaning. And then some sentences and then some more words, eventually the conjugation and now i am at B2 level, but those tips are good
Спасибо и доброе день!
