Are you colorblind?

1/12 males in America are born with this condition, that’s 8% of the population.

Here’s how it works:
Colorblindness is a condition in which one or more of the color-sensitive cones in your eye is not working as strongly as it should. This results in a color deficiency for the colors that specific cone(s) is responsible for. This deficiency in a handful of colors is much more common than widespread greyscale vision.

It is primarily shown in males because it is an X-linked trait. Males only have one X-chromosome so if they inherit the colorblind gene, they have a high chance of becoming colorblind. Whereas a female has two X-chromosomes, making it more difficult to show Colorblindness. To get Colorblindness as a female, both of your X-chromosomes must contain the colorblind gene.

Search for a Colorblindness test on Google to see if you can see all the colors!

Let me know in the comments if you are, or know of anyone that’s colorblind!

I remember taking a test like that at the optometrist, and I couldn’t read one of them, but luckily I’m not colourblind
