Just a tip for anyone finding the removal intensely hardcore (they get seriously clingy after a long relationship with the car!) try getting a hairdryer on it max heat for a few mins-moving around the lower/thinner part of the gear-knob, then (use gloves!) and give it a sharp tug and the divorce will be complete! 🙌

I have a 2004 325i and I am the original owner. I simply cannot get the shift knob off. It’s the original shift knob. I’ve even tried twisting while pulling. Nothing works. I’m a half of a step to taking a dremel to it but would rather not. Any ideas on how to get this darn thing off? I’m worried about my mental health at this point! Lol
