Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Guitar Medley | FamilyJules

Funny how a game with supposedly no music has some pretty sweet music.

Like many others, this game took me by surprise. I had low expectations for the new Zelda game and the Switch going in but I was dead wrong. Not only may Breath of the Wild be my new favorite Zelda, but the Switch is possibly my favorite console since the N64. I can't remember the last game that made me keep telling myself only '5 more minutes and I'll stop', especially after the great video game depression of 2016. I was very cautious about covering the music too soon to the game's release as I felt it was as important to get my own experience of the game first as it was for you guys to play it too. I really didn't want to ride the meme train unless I was gonna be a happy passenger, regardless of how well it could potentially do. I really hope you guys can hear the passion I have for the game and music in this medley. It's nice to transform this month's biggest productiveness killer into productivity.

I find it sad that it's a meme to hate on the game for it's music since the music is so good. I imagine not many people even realize how powerful the soundtrack is for telling the games story because they weren't immediately hit in the dick with Song of Storms 2 right off the bat, which it seemed everyone was expecting. Sure, Hyrule Field starts with like, two bare piano hits, but it's a shame people miss out on even giving the rest of the soundtrack a chance. Anyway...

This medley is based off my personal experience of the game and all the songs that really stood out to me while also telling the game's main story. Please enjoy. :)

I couldn't agree more with you about the music. I actually kinda pisses me off how often I see people rag on the game for the music, when they are so clearly missing what the soundtrack is trying to communicate. I think it's brilliantly composed and executed, and will defend the "two piano hits" until the day I die.

On a stroll through the fields, you hear the pure, gentle sound of an ocarina. As the music meets your ears, you smile and wonder who could be producing it--perhaps a waifish young boy, or a girl with the grace of an elf. You proceed and peek past a tree into a placid meadow...
...only to be met with the sight of some 20-something dude in jeans who looks like he belongs at a metal concert.

(Great work as usual, Jules! Maybe this wasn't your intention when you started, but you've improved a lot on the ocarina.)

I think the Hyrule Castle track is my favorite out of them all in the game. It had so many snippets from past games like Ocarina of Time and Link To The Past.

I just beat the game last night after 130 hours of exploring. It was quite possibly the best Zelda game I've ever played.

All these comments saying that BOTW doesn't have a good soundtrack. As much time that you spend in BOTW's massive world, it's good that the overworld themes don't have much to them so they don't get annoying. They're relaxing and add to the atmosphere. They may not be the kind of themes you can just sit and listen to, but that's where the other themes come in. When it comes to them, BOTW (in my opinion) actually has one of the BEST soundtracks in the series. My favorite themes in the game would probably be (in no particular order) Hyrule Castle, Vah Ruta Battle, and Molduga Battle Phase 2.

I completely agree with your words in the description. I feel that if only people gave the soundtrack a chance, they could see how beautiful it really is. It's atmospheric, which makes the game very immersive. And it also has some killer tracks!
