Not many folks make their own handles anymore, especially when you can buy them from a hardware store for $5. But making your own is cheaper if you have the materials, resourceful, and gives you so much more satisfaction working with something you built yourself instead of something you just bought from the store!

Here’s how you make your own handles for sledgehammers, hammers, hatchets, axes, anything!

Hope you enjoy!

Preciate y’all!

This is a real man's show. Here I am stuck working on a laptop laying in bed writing legal pleadings for work - BUT for 15 minutes I can be transported into Jeff's world. And love every second of it. Thank you Jeff. I''ll be a life-long subscriber!

Jeff, there are a ton more us out there than you might think that take pride in making things we need and doing for ourselves rather than buying everything from a box store or online. I've been following you and Hannah for years now and creating your own channel is a stroke of genius. You are who ole Bocephus had in mind when he sang..."A country boy can survive" Your new channel has quickly become my favorite!!! Just keep on being Jeff Barron and makin your interesting and informative videos and your channel followers will grow. "If you build it (and you do...really well)...they will come".

Jeff, there's nothing boring about a man who would rather forge something with his two hands! My wife shows me something she wants and my reply is "I can make that". You've done a great job raising Hannah. But you already knew this. Appreciate y'all! Toyota for life! :)

Jeff, in my view it is men just like you that are the true heartbeat of American. Men that don't look for reasons why they can't do something but resourceful men that find the means to get things done in life. It isn't any wonder your little girl is as amazing as well. Look who she had as a role model!

Nothing is more satisfying that making or modifying your own tools.

Jeff you show people the way things have been done for hundreds of years. We didn't always have the conveniences of stores and or money to always buy stuff. Many of us had to use our mind and hands and skills to provide things we need for ourselves and our families. Thank you for taking the time to show how us poor country folks get things done. ( Country boys will survive)

Making handles was my Dad's winter project. He kept a piece of hickory hanging in the shop. In Kentucky, when snow was on the ground, he'd be in his unheated shop making handles for everything. I went thru a spell, around 11 or 12, where I'd break anything. Kept him and that drawknife busy! I learned how to make them too. 65 and can still do it!! Thanks, Jeff

You are helping a lota people out there . It is hard to find men these days that understand, hard work and common sense, makes the job a whole lot smother.
Yet it is good entertainment to watch a feller across the way try and do some thing he hasent a clue fer. For example my neighbor the doctor, got himself a new jeep, we found him out on the hill side stuck spinning the wheels. Called him and he said he was going to call a tow truck, went over to see if I could help.he showed me all the wheels do is spin, the 2 rears, so I leaned in and flipped a toggle and said try again, he stomped the paddle to the metal and off like a heard of wild buffalo the little jeep learched up the hill and never even slipped another rear tire . Followed him to the dirt roads then showed him how to engage the 4x4. Smart guy like him and didn't know what 4x4 meant. This

When I was growing up, most folks in my family made all their own handles for all tools that needed one. You are right, whenever you go to use that tool, you will remember making that handle.

We live in a disposable world. Too many folks are in too big a hurry to take the time to fashion a handle on their own. Sadly, there are way too many who would go thru a small forest trying to make their own handles. Thanks for sharing that Mr Jeff. Preciate you too!
