Why does my song sound different after export? Why does my song sound bad in my car and other places? Are you struggling to figure out why it doesn't sound the same as in FL Studio (or any DAW)? It's not what you think!
There are several reasons why this can happen. Most people think this is a problem with FL Studio, Ableton, Studio one, Cubase, or whatever DAW you are using, but it's actually not. The solution to this problem is actually quite simple, so In this video, I'll explain the most common reasons why this happens, and how to fix it.
Also, note that there will naturally be differences when listening to monitors vs headphones. The room itself will also make a huge impact, which is why your track will sound different in your car for example.

My track doesn’t sound very bad, but slightly different every time I export it. For example Sometimes some instruments such as vocals are sounding more compressed or there is very little clicks. I do use 3rd party plugins almost on every tracks including the master chain, which works okay while in real-time including Waves and Slate digital, fab filter etc.

Thanks for the tips!

For anyone this might help, my issue in windows was:
1) Right-click speaker icon and select Open Sound settings
2) Click Sound Control Panel on top-right (under Related Settings)
3) Find the device in use and then click Properties (for me was Realtek(R) Audio on headphones)
4) Go to the Advanced tab, and uncheck the box labeled "Enable audio enhancements".
5) Click Ok.
6) Restart FL studio if open (for some reason because playback wasn't working, I guess because sound settings were changed, but was fine after restart).

This fixed everything for me - mix sounded exactly the same in VLC/Audition/WMP as in FL Studio.

Louder does sound better so everyone! . If you listen closly to your mix each individual instrument has its own volume fader. That volume fader will give a sweetspot to each instrument as you turn up or turn down the fader do that to each instrument. I hopes this technique also helps with hearing what you actually hear when u export from your DAW and also if you use headphones keep your phones volume at 12 O Clock. Dial should face straight to to the sky this give you a better reading of loud meter inside your DAW

This is a common problem across many DAWs. The problem is that it's not the sound card settings. It's not the media player settings. In fact in my case, it sounds louder OUTSIDE of my DAW, louder but just crappy. There is still no answer to this problem.

You're so good you should be an image-line employ, ee. I Remember when we wrote on the image-line forum (i believe) some years ago. Congrats on creating a great channel for fl studio related stuff.

This is my exact problem. I have been getting the wrong answers, because I wasn't asking the right question. I keep upgrading Mixcraft, buying plugins, smashing my songs with compressors and limiters, reinstalling interface (Focusrite) drivers... AHHHH!!!! I get things more than loud enough; in my DAW. Sounds great; in my DAW. All the nice Youtube tutorials, everything sounds great; in their DAW! I will try your suggestion. But, yes the problem is in the exporting to hard drive. Thank you so much!

My sounds problem was because I somehow got water in my speaker. But things sounded much better after i sipped it out.

I’m having this issue after leaving the studio . In the studio it sounds amazing but after it’s emailed and I listen to it on my phone, car, it sounds bad and gonna express this to my producer because he goes a wonderful job just something I’ve noticed from our previous work.
