What a great idea! I love your ingenuity. This reminds me of the time when I was just 3 or 4 and my mom had about 50 pounds of cucumbers to wash. She put them in the close washer. I remember being quite confused by it, but it worked.

I'm in an apartment so so far I've done basil and marigolds on our porch. We eat green beans with every other meal so I'm going to add them soon. I dried and froze a ton of basil this year so I'll probably reduce from a whole pot of basil to just one plant and add some other herbs to the pot.

Great video! I've been looking for how to do the same kind of thing for a few years, since root washer are usually too big for my needs. I'd seen a few videos with concrete mixers, without convincing me, but the way you've developed is brilliant. I have one question though: why not use the garbage can with the wire mesh for your vegetables? You wouldn't have to change the can. Or, since the garbage cans are stackable, if the mesh for the compost can was outside of the bin you could make the compost bin permanent and insert the vegetable bin into it when needed.

Hello sir, maybe for the control of tumbler speed you could use some power electronics to regulate the current to the motor via a pwm controller or just have 2 different modes of operation through passive power electronics. Another suggestion is to fully integrate the solar panels which output dc voltage to control and automate tasks in the garden, but that would require much more work.
Best of luck, great content.

That drum is great for washing black walnuts.

Cool project! Could you make a wood slat bottom for the trash can in order to prevent the base from picking up and dropping the vegetables?

just my 5 cents... Use a drill to power that mixer and you can control rpm from the drill switch. That will avoid the cable. Shovel from compost pit to the mixer and auto feed to the wheelbarrow..!!

Should use two drums the same and put the screened one in first permanently then just put the wash one in when needed since the same type they should fit perfectly

Screening compost is easier when it’s very dry

Thanks for the video, good job. But washing vegetables is unnecessary. Spoiled consumers. It shortens the lifespan of your vegetables. I am a potato breeder myself and use the concrete mixer to test sensitivity to internal damage. I am also afraid that the quality of your products will deteriorate.
