The problem is Mahathir is actually the easiest person to work with for Singapore government. Mahathir's lack of need to answer to any one attitude means he seldom bothered how his own party holding him up would back him or not. And Malays in general are so paraochial and easily mislead the other PMs are weakened by it where as Mahathir wouls just do his own thing . He could cause the most trouble but also be the easiest PM to work with.
