Actually, the real first step that both that Jay and this Jay use is DRIVE A LONG WAY TO A LAKE FULL OF WALLEYES WITH NO OTHER BOATS😉

I likely fish Walleye farther North than most of the viewers but I'd wager, without electronics, knowing your lake would be my first suggestion. Second: fishing Walleye is similar to selling real estate, location .. location .. location. Structure (rocks) and the edge of a drop-off 15' - 20' range is always productive (water temps are less of an issue north of the 48th parallel). Last: everything you suggest is bang on! Once I've found fish, working plastics on jig heads or "bottom bouncing" a 6" light colored Mr Twister with just a appetizer of night crawler on the hook, seals the deal. Absolutely enjoyed your video. Great production value; no sponsor plugs on tackle and .. no time wasted on knots! Thanks again. Cheers!

I agree those Berkeley gulp just work. They need to fix their containers as I find they always leak. I actually switch it to a different container. Awesome job Jay. And yes, I always wear my life jacket. No matter how hot.

I usually wait until I hit bottom before closing the bail. When you close it, no more line can be let out so the lure is falling towards you while it's sinking to bottom. When you leave the bail open, the line is able to let out so the lure will sink more directly down to bottom which will give you more room to work it, even if just a little.

Finally I find someone else who thinks trolling is boring. As a fellow youtube fisherman targeting walleye for the first time tomorrow im literally just going to use the same baits i made before coming to this wyoming trip and i have caught every fish species so far this state has to offer on my spft plastic grubs. When my daughter was very young she called fishing mishing ha ha my son couldn’t stand it so he spent a few hours teaching her to say it right so just before he left he asked her what do you call it? ( air cast ) and she yelled Mishing, he left disappointed and we laughed for a long time well she is 20 now and I just played the beginning of your video for her and we laughed for a while ha ha and I hope I can learn how to catch them like you it’s got to be fun thanks

Wish i had seen this the other day! We just left Perch Bay and were really struggling to get walleye on the rental boat w/o a fish finder. Managed to get some off the main dock on minnows but a bit of a guess and hope vs having a plan in place.

I was using the 360 gt searchbait in a 3 1/2”last summer for the walleye in shallow water. It worked great and got a few Master Angler Pike too
