I have had my mt07 since 2018. I used go think to upgrade to something else because its not a supersport. But after riding my friends supersports(Ducati, Daytona, r6), I love my mt07 even more now. Its so comfy and its the all round good machine to have fun with. If I could change 1 thing that comes stock, I would change the exhaust system and the rear suspension. Because the rear suspension is really bumpy on 2018 prior models.

I have a 2021 MT-07. I live on a small island, 27km by 15km, it's almost one big city, and hilly. This bike is perfect for this kind of urban/semi-urban place.

OC: I have a 2020 MT07 and I live in a small city in Utah but traffic gets bad so fortunately, lane filtering is legal here! It is an amazing bike for it!! I love it!!

You know what would make your ride even better? Being allowed to lane split lol

OC: Definitely a perfect city bike. It's all about being upright and maneuverable when dealing with slow traffic. Only thing better is a supermoto, because sometimes you need to hop a curb and make your own turn lane.

Lol! Heat from "0-Panigale", as a V4 owner I can confirm, the struggle is real. However, the steed of satan under you is great starting in October through the winter.

2021 MT 07 owner with 4000 miles! I really have no complaints about the MT, great in the city, backroads, and manages the highway runs I typically make -- I truly enjoy every moment with my bike! Sad I brought it in for service and had some problems... anyone ever heard of a front sprocket buzzing or making weird noise?? Dealer went above and beyond to confirm there was nothing wrong but I know it can't be right. Thanks!!

I've had my FZ-07 for 6 years now and it's been a great commuter/city bike. Couple minor upgrades (bar end mirrors, -1F +1R sprockets, R6 throttle tube) are all you really need.

Just bought this for next summer so far its super fun. Wind is the main issue but as long as you're in the city it's perfect.

OC: I haven’t ridden it yet but based on the riding in this video, I’d agree that it would make a great city bike. Relatively light weight and enough low end grunt to have fun light to light.

I wish you just replayed your original FZ-07 video from back in the day. That video made me excited and actually influenced me to buy one.

I have a 2015 non abs fz07 and absolutely love it! I commute and spirit ride on it and have nothing but good feelings on it. Mods I've done to suit me more are Yoshimura full system, 520 chain/sprockets/ Pro Taper EVO 1 1/8th charmichael bars with CRG lane splitter end mirrors and Mika metal bar clamps, R6 throttle tube with pillow top grips, adjustable levers, my own custom dash relocation in front of handle bars for easier view while riding and passenger peg delete. I also added a cup holder and phone mount but they all help and change the bike's personality alot. I call it my "poor man's Ducati", but like you said the fz/mt07 is by far an amazing and capable city environment bike!

Excellent and fair review. I ride mine mostly in rural areas with country roads and highways. The suspension is the weak link. I spent a bit over a grand on mine and it's a much more enjoyable ride at all speeds. It doesn't have enough power or the aerodynamics to stay up with an modern inline 4 600 above 100 mph. However it's quick enough in the quarter mile to beat most stock muscle cars of the 60's. The engine was unique in it's design. Now it's the target for Honda, Suzuki and KTM. Especially in the flat track racing. I'm an old geezer, not a racer or a stunt rider. I wanted a bike that was fun to ride and low maintenance. Lots of bikes could fit that role. I want something that suits my needs. I'm an experienced rider but it had been almost 15 years since I rode. I have almost 26k on my 2015 FZ07, it's ready for it's first valve adjustment. It runs just fine. 26 k on the original spark plugs. Much cheaper to insure because it doesn't have all that plastic. It's got a solid resale market as well, it has been one of the best selling motorcycles (pre covid) since 2014. Lots of parts are available and will remain that way for a long time. It's quick enough to get you in trouble but not fast enough to hang with the sport bikes that cruise at 140 mph.

OC Chase I’d really like to see you make a review in the city for one of the Buell Xb bikes since they are making a come back and since they advertised them as urban bikes

Yeah the the mt07 Is seriously perfect for the city. If I had to nit pick I don't know what I'd complain about. For highway or track I'd like stronger brakes and a firmer suspension but were talking about city.. so hmmm its Perfect!

Just ordered my 22 Mt07! I have to wait until September to get it into Ireland, and as a first bike, I’m super excited to have it arrive!

OC: I do think that the 07 is the perfect city riding bike, as for mirrors idk why more bikes don't come with bar end mirrors. They always seem more usable than the stock antenna mirrors most bikes come with.

100% agree. Perfect city bike and perfect amount of power to rip around town. If I want to go faster and on the highways I take my r6 as it more comfortable with the wind protection
