Hi Joshua Gordon. In this problem the assumption is for an average current over the course of our travel. If the set and drift of the current, and our boat speed stay the same we will travel down our intended course for as long as we need to. think about it like swimming across a river. If you want to get to the opposite side to a point straight across from you and the is an equall current the whole way across you will swim a certain angle into the current to get to that point on the other side

I have two more example of these problems with POV perspective they are called "Known Current Practice Problem 1" and "Known Current Practice Problem 2" I hope they are easier to watch with this view. Thanks for the comments.

This would really go well if you would add a video on tide ranges and how to compute Time to the nearest rise & fall, though you need a tide table it would still be great for recalling.

You are making an assumption that the time it will take is one hour. If it were a longer distance, the current would be acting on your boat longer, and this needs to be taken into consideration. What is missing is the initial estimation of the distance and time it will take you, and adjusting the length of the set/drift vector accordingly.
