What fascinates and baffles me about this and similar events is why anyone uses leisure time to be cold and in danger. I like a nice walk in the woods, and I've been in some remote places, but this utterly puzzles me.

In addition to the natural hazards present on the mountains and valleys of Tajikistan, bandits were known to operate in the mountains in the border areas of Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Afghanistan.However, it sounds as though this group were perhaps not quite experienced enough to tackle such a demanding trek.
