"The lightning struck without warning " lol If it was a sunny day with no clouds I'd understand but I think the other 1000 lightning strikes that came before it was warning enough

I was 20 feet from a lightning strike. It's crazy how blinding a loud it is. What's even crazier is the massive air blast that it produced. The air went from 0mph to 60mph in a split second.

i still remember a few years back i was asleep and lightning hit a few houses away. i basically had 2 layers of thick curtains to prevent any light waking me up, but this bolt was so strong it flashed through the curtains so hard into my eyes and the boom literally took my soul out im not even joking. I literally ran to an area of the house that had zero windows and just lay there traumatised lmao

More like a 5 lightning strikes stretched out to a 13 minute video even though 30 seconds would've been more than enough.

There is a very high probability when you were close to a lightning strike and up high enough relative to the tallest objects in the area; you've or where you were standing actually may have been the target of "feeler lightning." As the charge builds it can send out a bunch of "feelers" that "look" for the path of least resistance before the full charge travels this path between the two surfaces. This is where that whole warning that if you are ever out in a storm and all your hair stands up or you experience other common signs of carrying a static charge all of a sudden you are suppose to take cover or make yourself as small as possible, you've been charged by a feeler and you might be the path a lightning strike may take if you are up high, or isolated in an open area like on a lake or in a field.

I love the sound of thunder. It's awesome! I also love lightning and the storm.

I was standing outside the ER watching a storm and had to go back in to work. Turned around and started walking back in. Two or three seconds later, the entire room lit up as bright as the Sun and I knew what was next! BOOM! Lightning had struck one of the parking lot lights just outside the door. Extremely loud! Still remember it vividly and this occurred in the early 80's at Holloman AFB hospital.

As an Australian myself I love to watch lightning storms roll over my house, sometimes I’ll stand outside against my front door and watch/film the storm. 😍

I remember about a year or two after we moved into my current house a storm was rolling over, I sat in my parents bedroom and watched, we have some sore of evergreen tree right next to my parents bedroom window, and with out a word of a lie a lightning bolt struct the tree, the sound and brightness that came with the bolt, it didn’t blind/dazed me but I fell to the ground and my ears where ringing for a good 30 seconds 😅😵‍💫, that tree still stands today completely fine.

Many years back I bought a CD that has night sounds on it as well as a thunder, lightning, and rain storm in two versions. One was longer than the other with birds chirping before & after the storm passes. It's awesome listening to it in a very dark room.

Years ago as we watched a massive rainstorm a bolt of lightning hit the telephone pole just outside the open door of our shop. It made a huge bang and flash and chunks of wood scattered all around us. Everyone else dove under the tables. I just stood there and said, "That was cool."

I recently saw a lighting strike first hand about 200m from me. I can guarantee that it is more terrifyingly loud than the thunders we normally hear. Very possibly the loudest sound I've ever heard

The guy from number 4 should've took a chunk of that wood and started making his own "The Natural" bat.

I was within 30 feet of a lightning strike about fifteen years ago. It scared the living crap out of me. The next morning, I found bark embedded in the rough texture of the 1950s bricks on my garage, and pieces of wood and bark blown across the street, landing about a hundred feet away. The flying debris can be even deadlier than the bolt itself.

I can’t imagine any video with a lesser need for a voice over narration than one so visual as lightening strikes. Pro tip: turn your volume down to zero.

Lightning struck a small tree in our backyard. We were in the kitchen which opens to the yard. We were blinded by the strike and it left the little tree destroyed and a left a large dip where it struck. My brother was on a landline phone and was shocked through the phone. Luckily, he wasn’t hurt nor needed medical care.
