Despite all the evil of Logan Roy, it’s still important to remember that Connor Roy was interested in politics from a very young age

the coolest thing about Logan's character arc: even after death, he still got what he wanted: the GoJo deal went through, Tom got his promotion, and the Roy kids were left to pick up the pieces without a single win against their dad.

There are few villains that are easy to hate, yet you love seeing on screen. Logan stole every scene he was in, and even after his "departure" from the show, he was a force of nature that still bent the story and characters of the world despite his absence

Truly the Tywin Lannister of modern era.
Ruthless, strategic and a master of manipulation, especially when it comes to the psychological of his children. Despicable yet fascinating to see on screen.

I like how at Logan’s funeral Ewan said of him “he had a meagerness to him.” Logan was outrageously greedy and that instinct helped him build a tremendous fortune but he was so unwilling to share anything of himself w anyone. He saw others as he knew himself to be - greedy self interested and abusive. Kendall says to him “you’re so jealous of what you’ve given your own children.” Meagerness seemed like a strange way to describe Logan a first but the more I think of it meagerness is the perfect way to describe someone like Logan whos narcissistic and self preserving to a fault.

The one line that always got me was when Logan said "I always win" in that demonic ass voice. Insane acting and writing from the team to bring him to such a larger than life figure in that moment and show how truly scary a man of that presence and power can be.

I really didn’t expect that you would tackle this incredible show but I’m glad you did.

One of the best written characters in tv history.

Great vid. I do think Logan showed glimpses of humanity throughout the show. He seemed genuinely humbled and sad for the waiter's parents when he met them. He also seemed to respect the boy in the first episode who didnt make the home run and didnt seem to care much for Roman and Toms treatment of him. There's other part as well - the scene when his cfo sang, and his relationship with his security guard. I dont think he was a born psycho, but not a product of environment either - he walked open-eyed in to the excesses of power and the ruin it brought to him spiritually.

One of Logan's most striking scenes is when he's trying to neg Shiv into taking a photo with him and a rightwing politician who Shiv found disgusting. After Shiv's initial refusal, Logan decided to walk up to Roman and praise him for some success he had earlier in the episode. Immediately it looked as if a nerve broke within Shiv, and with tears nearly swelling her eyes, she walked forward to join her father in the photo shoot.

Logan has housebroken all his children so thoroughly that even when they're adults, their sole source of self-esteem is earning his approval. Shiv throws away all her convictions at the mere threat of losing her father's favor.

I knew this had to be a video when Kendall outright tells Logan he’s evil 😂

I think that one of the most evil things that Logan did was have Connor’s mom/his (Logan’s) first wife, locked up in a psych ward. It’s stated that she had mental health problems, but nothing very specific. Logan might have psychologically tortured her so bad, that she went crazy, or she learned about something bad Logan did in his past, and he had her locked up so she wouldn’t tell anyone, it’s all very interesting.

The thumbnail's just made me realise that Logan wearing his cardigan in the office so often is probably to symbolise how much more comfortable he is at the top than everyone else around him.

Logan can be summed up in that scene in BoJack Horseman: "My kid is such a disappointment, which is strange because I did such a good job raising her."

I think what’s most interesting about Logan Roy is his comment about how life if a knife fight in the mud, because that’s his only outlook on life. I’m sure he did love his children, and had affection for the people around him, but Logan only saw the world as a fight in the mud, and despite the love and affection he might’ve held, his desire for wealth and power and his willingness to use and manipulate everyone around him for his own desires keeps him from ever emotionally investing into anyone but himself. In short, his brutal and Machiavellian worldview always came before any emotion he held, and acquiring wealth and power would always be more important then friends and family because of this

One thing I'd like to add is that Logan was most likely an absent father to his children. The title sequence heavily implies this as the old family videos have Logan in them, but we never see his face, or walking away from his family or just strolling alone. He shuts everyone out and that's probably what effects him and everyone around him the most. Another fantastic video!

I'd like to see a video on Moriarty from BBC's Sherlock and the short story "The Final Problem". The intellectual rival to the greatest fictional detective, who's own ambitions bring the downfall of himself and his nemesis...

This video is so perfect. Logan is one of the most evil characters I’ve seen and yet he’s one of the most subtle. It’s the embodiment of daddy issues. No matter how rich or poor you are, Logan Roy is that abusive father that makes you feel insecure and inadequate.

He is also played by one of my favourite actors Brian Cox.

Bruh, i just finished watching Succession two days ago. Talk about perfect timing. I feel like almost every character in this show can have an analysis video on how "evil" they are. Instant like, my man

I’m of the unpopular belief that Logan did love his children. I think because of the way he was brought up, he never actually knew how to love someone. Obviously a person makes their own decisions and becomes their own person when they’ve grown up, but from the moment he was shipped off to Canada, the only thing Logan was ever taught how to do was survive. Surviving poverty, surviving his abusive uncle, and surviving the cutthroat business competition in the media industry.
