I paid $399.99 at Home Depot on Black Friday.. I'll give this unit 5 out of 5!!

The only problem that is commonly reported is carburetor trouble -- so run it completely dry or drain the gas out of the side of the float bowl in the Springtime.

On the right side it has different levels. r1r2 f1-6. Can you explain the different numbers and what they do. Is 6 for the most snow?

For the price that MTD built machine is a bargain and with proper maintenance it should serve you well for years. Don’t forget to change your break-in oil after the first 5 hours of use. Good luck with it!
