Since power can not truly be destroyed I like to believe that the Doom Guy didn’t faint just because he killed the creator but rather he inherited, at least part of, his power causing him to collapse until his body can withstand it.

He didn't die he just had no purpose because his purpose to kill that guy and he did so they put him to sleep and when they need him again they will open it so that he can kill again

I like to think he just goes in to a sort of comatose state, where if something of a similar scale and danger arises, he can reawaken to destroy the new threat, just like he did this one. As he is above human, he could essentially die, but then come back to life again, and I like to think maybe this has happened countless times already, and will continue to for eternity, he just doesn’t know it because when he dies, he forgets everyhting
