A youtuber called iamlucid was able to call his local police station and let them know to put a mark on his house. Basically said that hes a live streamer and swatting is a common occurrence. They said they'd send only 1 officer to investigate a situation and make sure its fine

Make streamers register with something/someone as streamers and give the info to the relevant police departments to verify and understand the situation before they waste resources on a raid.

As someone who has a friend who was swatted 4 times, popularity of the streamer DOES NOT MATTER. He has around 1000 or so sins at the time and it was a petty ex that paid somebody to swat him multiple times. There are people who do this shit for a living, as dumb as it sounds, it is true.

Most likely someone either paid for this or it's someone doing it for a "joke." This shit is scary when it happens live and you're in the call with them :/

Alliestrazsa is a streamer known for playing Hearthstone but is currently taking a break from it and is currently playing TFT. She has been streaming for more than half a decade.

The video is actually out of order. She announced she was being swatted and afterwards her and the people living in her home were handcuffed as officers searched the premises. The call delivered to police was that a woman had shot their husband and was hiding in the bathroom. This was explained by Allie on a Twitter post.

While Allie says that she herself wasn’t so shaken by the occurrence (more annoyed by it than anything), it did unnerved her mother who was also staying at the home.

Another streamer who was affected was Bellaboo, an Overwatch and Pokémon Unite Streamer who is also Allie’s sister.

As some people have suggested, and others taken a little too seriously, contact your local police department, they have protocols for this and that way they will call you directly, or send some regular officers over to check before sending a full swat team.

I used the word “swat” not even to threaten anyone on Twitch or anything bad and I got “permanently suspended” and then it took Twitch support over 4 months to respond and admit they made a mistake. Twitch support is terrible in all aspects.

Honestly twitch can't stop this. It's up to the twitch streamer to make sure their address is private and they should tell their local police call centers to be aware of what might happen.

Of course, its terrible she was swatted- but the way she yelled "I'm being swatted right now guys-" and just closed the door was kinda funny-
