Mental to think he's playing in the 7th tier of English football now. Looked a quality player with Premier League potential back then. Hopefully bounces back and makes a half decent career for himself in the Football League

I was at the match last night him and the number 11 were taking the piss out of that Greece defence, literally just passing by their full backs with ease, the thing which I was annoyed about leaving the match was that we didn't take enough of our chances, should taken more shots, and for people in the comments who are saying Matt will choose England over Ireland, you should have seen the passion he had when he scored, was unbelievable

Atleast at youth level, the manager should pick Irish players over English lads ffs. How are we as a national team and in our national football going to progress if we choose lads that don’t really want to play for us but instead use us as a last resort.
