The fact that Volcarona became too much for Gen 9 OU (Even though Gen 9 is the most power crept generation in pokemon history) will never cease to amaze me.
Remember, this is the same generation where Garchomp, Latios and Heatran dropped to UU, the same generation where 4-time UUBL monster known as Staraptor dropped to PU and last but not least the same generation where Snorlax became UNTIERED.
Volcarona is just built different man.

If I could jump start from this video topic’s answer, it’s worth noting that Volcarona is one of the very few Pokémon that regularly runs Boots in the comparatively hazard sparse environment of BSS. Stealth Rock is still good in that format, and being that weak to it can absolutely justify Boots.
