Biden warns Putin of strong economic sanctions if Russia invades Ukraine

In virtual talks on December 7, 2021, US President Joe Biden warned Russian President Vladimir Putin that the West would impose “strong economic and other measures” on Russia if it invades Ukraine. Putin, meanwhile, demanded guarantees that Nato would not expand further eastward into Ukraine.

Nobody sanctioned the US for their wars of aggression in Iraq, Syria, Lybia, Afghanistan, Vietnam, Korea, Cuba, Kuwait, Haïti, Yugoslavia, Serbia, Panama, Lebanon, Iran, Cambodia and probably some others that I can't remember.

Reminder that the USA have only been at peace for 17 years out of 245 years of history.

Truth is, a large scale conflict in Europe will benefit US. The whole reason US became a superpower is that Europe lied in ruins after WW2, economically exausted after 6 years of conflict, while US never had to fight on their territory. And they won't be this time, if anything happens. This is how it's done.
Then again, Europe cutting all ties with Russia, means full energy dependence on US and it's allies (Saudi Arabia), with barely any other options, since Iran is under sanctions as well. Plus more EU money will be spent on military contracts with US, to buy weapons against "Russian threat", etc, etc. And while Russia and Europe are exausting each other, US can focus on "containing" China. Divide and conquer.

Russia's been under those 'sanction's multiple times.... Idk what makes them worse now than when Russia was just recovering from the collapse of the USSR. Might have been worrying then, but now since that time with their experiences under these sanctions? Not exactly.

Not only oil but diesel. Meanwhile, it's exporting its shale oil. When you stop buying from Russia feel free to dictate to others.
