From what I heard, this is supposed to be in the same universe as Bleach where Soul Society is only *one area* of the afterlife responsible for the souls of all those who live in the entirety of Asia in the living world.


People of other ethnicities would fall under their jurisdiction if they happen to live in one of the precincts Soul Society is responsible for.
