what is the cost of replacing the battery? many people keep their sleds for decades as they only ride a bit a year, will the batteries age well? If it runs out how do you recharge it? how does it handle extreme cold?

You know, I could see as an outfitter in my case a chores around yard pretty useful as electric.

Two ways useful
Outfitting in winter: dragging baits 5-10km into bait sites every 3 weeks, transporting hunter into the stand in morning and picking up at night; stealthier for getting clients in a spooking less wolves. Recharge during day while waiting for evening to pick up clients at there stands!

2: around ranch doing chores; kids could pull hay bales around, move straw and stuff no overheating, no fuel useage and plug in when done, not having worry bout kids cold seizing it.

I do think it’s a very good sled for its purpose and design. I’d honestly like give one a try to be honest. I run a 2010 summit 800 right now and it be really neat see the difference in the two perform side by side and what I do with them with clients. Be truly cool to actually see an test real world on them

Brilliant. This is a perfect application of the available technology and I’m sure it’ll just get better and better. I will be excited when there’s a no-compromises electric option for a mountain sled offered by Ski Doo. I’d buy one today.

E Rotax? Rotax is now mfg their own electric motors?? Or just putting the Rotax name on another company’s product?? Since the 60s Ski Doo has been a Ski Doo because of Rotax power.

Some of these same comments were made when Arctic Cat came out with the first consumer 4 stroke in 01-02 time frame. Long ways to go before they go main stream in trail segments and even longer way to go before entering mountain/backcountry segment so save the ohs and ahs, goos and gaas.
