Been doing the snowmobile thing since 1962. Seen lots of advances and misses in our sport as have many of you fellow riders. Once all of these obstacles have been overcome, then and only then will I even open an electric snowmobile brochure (hear the word brochure BRP!); 1) Range of at least 150 miles 2) Full recharge in less than 10 minutes w/o damage to battery pack 3) Zero battery degradation meaning as with a gas tank it holds the same amount of ‘fuel’ 20 years later as the day I bought it 4) No weight penalty for having a battery operated sled 5) Equal refueling infrastructure as to what we enjoy today.

Everybody out here complaining for their 850s. Our town has 300 homes with snowmobiles, most of which have never left a 2 mile radius of their house. Electric snowmobiles would be perfect here. Can't wait.

Makes perfect sense for Ski Mountain resorts that do short range guided tours, roaming equipment inspections, and have access to lots of charging outlets. Has the potential to cut a lot of maintenance costs.

I mean it's cool and all but let's be honest, nothing will ever replace the sound of an 850 turbo 🤙🏽

Once i can get 150+ miles a charge, and that charge doesn't take hours i might consider it. Until then I'd rather gas up in 5 minutes and go. The torque is appealing, but the lack of that 2 stroke sound is not.

Another drain on our already inadequate power grid? Anyways, for now, I don't think the mom-and-pop gas stations and restaurants/bars in northern Minnesota where I ride can afford to install 100 electric charging stations for sleds. Some places we stop literally have 50 - 100 sleds parked outside! Out of juice? Now what do you do? This technology needs to be managed responsibly.

What a great idea for Ski-doo to partner with tour companies to get their feet wet with electric sleds. They don't need the range for that application, it's a huge win for the tour companies and it allows Ski-doo to get good at building e-sleds while they wait for the EV car industry to squeeze more power and energy out of lightweight batteries. Then when the battery tech catches up they'll be ready to go. Brilliant.

the electric snowmobile will not work for people who ride long trails like up in Maine or mountain ride you wont find a charging station anywhere

Great idea, but will never catch on without more range.

Future! No anymore disputes about what kind of engine is better: 2-stroke or 4-stroke! Electric much better! :) No oil, gasoline and smell! :)

How's is it balanced compared to a 600-850? What's the dry weight top speed?

50 km? what kind of tour do you go on with snowmobile that's only 50km? seems like a joke but gotta start somewhere I guess

You guys should partner with the outfitters that take people on guided tours inside Yellowstone National Park. Currently they only allow 4 strokes bcuz of noise and emissions. I'd bet my bottom dollar they would die to transfer everything to electric!

The average snowmobiler does not drive very far it would be perfect to 90% of people

If it had longer range it would be perfect in alaska or Canada... lack of sound means you can sneak up to animals while hunting
