Disaster had struck Iran. The power of the shah seemed in peril. Yet somehow this turbulent age gave rise to Khosrau Anushirawan, one of the greatest shahs of the Middle Ages. How did it all begin?

What i love about this channel is that they cover thing that we most likely wont know about, instead of following well known stories.

Our boy Kavadh broke out of Oblivion so often he's the closest we have to a real-life Hero of Kvatch.

Sassanid Persia is seriously underrated. Thanks for making a series on Khosrau!

I feel like the Hephtalites are the real heroes of this story so far, for being fairly chill about Iran attacking them three separate times, and still treating little Khosrau with decency afterwards.

Otto von Bismarck: He made things happen.
Kavadh: Things... kinda just happened to him.

"Fortress of Oblivion"
That has got to be the best name for a historical place ever

The Fortress of Oblivion was easy to escape? I haven't been this disappointed by a name since the HMS Invincible was sunk...

Let me guess, the Fortress of Oblivion sat overlooking the Cliffs of Insanity. That is just INCONCEIVABLE.

I am iranian and so glad that you are making something about our history! Anushirevan is still a symbol of justice in our country. Thank you.

See this is why I highly enjoy this channel; The amount of historical figures I barely knew of, keeps me more and more intrigued!

Of course Oblivion is a bad prison. Mehrunes Dagon keeps trying to invade the world from there

I went back to the Justinian series to look for Khosrau, and I found him. Though the letter on his clothing was a C instead of a K as it should've been, upon learning that he was the one who engaged in all those bouts of master trolling right before the plague struck the Byzantines my excitement for this series quadrupled. We're gonna be seeing "Operation: Stick it to Justinian" from the Iranian perspective. And it will be glorious.

So begins the story of the man who masterfully trolled Justinian I for so much of his reign. Oh this is going to be fun.

As an Iranian I thank you for making a video about one of the greatest and fairest ( to people at least) kings in the history of the world that so many people know so little about! It's said that he had a huge bell installed on the door of his castle so the people could ring the bell and go straight to the king himself! It's like u go to The Whitehouse ring the bell and just walk straight to the president 😂
He was just powerful

God I love you people... Caesar? "Naw." Industrial Revolution? "Naw." Khosrau Anushirawan? "Ya, lets do him." Please never change, the obscure to one is the life and meaning of another. Extra Credits (Extra History) will always be one of my (if not my most) favorite channel on YouTube.

Poor fortress of oblivion. Such a intimidating name, yet it was all for show.

Khosrow was already one of my favorite historic emperors simply because of his hilarious campaign through the Byzantine Empire. I'm really excited for this series.

Khavad: I have an idea
Aristocrats: We don't like your idea
Khavad's relatives: Oh boy here we go
