Yes! Finally I can use the whole notch area on Snapchat and Instagram stories again. Which is very important to me lol. Loving the full screen Youtube as well. Love this phone! Thanks again for the constant Essential vids.

I take it that "Never Use The Notch Area, " means that you "essentially" (sorry!) hide the notch? :O)
I really like the look of the Essential Phone. I've heard people talk about it being really cheap, right now, but in the UK..£519!

I haven't gotten the update yet because I'm on sprint, but on YouTube, without the settings, you can do that zoom in zoom out gesture to use up the notch from the app itself

Strange I picked default for all apps to use notch settings but you tube is still not using the notch area.

Hi, I have a question. Have you ever experienced any touch screen issues? I currently have a problem when the phone freezes up and then restarts and after it restarts the touch screen does not work anymore. I have to restart the phone a unbelievable amount of times for it to work again.
