what i find interesting about zelda is, that it is basically more like mythic fantasy, especially greek myth because link is essentially a demigod, he has one part of the triforce, each of which represents the Power of one of the 3 godesses. Also the way his journey works is simmilar to mythic quests, he has to prove himself in ancient challenges, spririts and powerfull enteties grand him magic artefakts and most of his Problems are solved trough intelligence. e.g. as anyone who has read greek myth knows, as Important as herakles strengh is, his cunning is just as valuable

XP for gold spent is one of the best tricks you can use. It immediately makes the players think up things to spend all that loot on: a house, a ship, a tavern, etc. Just don't let them buy magic items; that's what adventures are for. (But do let them buy extra enchantments for magic weapons they've found.)

8:53 interesting trivia : My great grandfather was a monk who ran away with a nun (great grandmother).

To give more context, it happened in Italy (possibly Ancône) around WW1 (i think). They met in during a visit in the monastery, fell in love and ran away while they were in their early twenties. I don't know anything else about it (grandmother not around anymore)

You're not just a youtuber. Since I've become infatuated with D&D and subsequently TTRPGs in general and went down the rabbit hole, I enjoy, love and consume your content repeatedly (on a reasonable frequency xD). This hobby because it's so tied to the unique human ability of creativity, storytelling and fantasizing is more than just "the sum of it's parts". It's deeply cathartic, theratpeutic, wholesome and fosters human connection all the while. And you are one of the likeable, helpful bunch of "Online Friends with Advice" that help make this experience even richer.

I agree, I think Advantage and Disadvantage was the best mechanic 5e implemented. It really pushed the hobby away from modifiers, which is a blessing.
