That's what they did with my dad he was cremated in his bedding when they wrapped him up and took him out of my house for the last time. I'm just so fortunate I got to walk my dad out of the house for the last time the very house that he walked me into that I grew up in.

Makes sense to me, it's more efficient. Especially, also, if you happen to arrive in pieces. 😅

Never felt that way when someone spoke to me. New feelings!

As a part of the emergency service I always found it amazing that we would recover a body in a plastic /paper body bag then the family would pay thousands of pounds on a very posh coffin only to be cremated and in some cases the family going into debt yes nice to see a loved one away to their maker in style but why 🤔

Are there checks done when you get a body to verify they are actually deceased before cremation and if not how long would it take for one to burn alive?

Can you elaborate on more of the items in the box? That's quite a collection.

If I have any metal joints or anything else, I want that stuff back if I was cremated!

When my best friend passed of covid. Everything moved so quickly. We had a small viewing the next day, when I walked in and spoke to her. There was a tear that rolled down her face. People keep telling me it was fluids because she was going to be cremated right after, but the trauma of seeing a "tear" run down her face at the funeral home, that is something u can't get out of my mind. 😢

How can you find out what crematory was used for your loved ones ? My best friend recently had 3 family members pass, one was her sister ! She used a funeral home and wondering if she used a certain crematory that is now under investigation in Chicago Hgts Illinois, apparently lots of funeral homes in the area use this place ! Thanks

How long does it take for a small person to be cremated VS a big person?

Typically the remains are transferred into a cardboard box after a viewing. So even if they were in a casket when last viewed. They don’t burn the actual casket.

If people knew the horror what exactly happens to their love ones during cremation the would never have it done

At first I thought that box of metal was the remains of Evel Knievel.

My oldest son was full term stillbirth. The mortician took him from the hospital in a weird suitcase contraption. He was cremated and placed in 4 urns. He left with his Trex pajamas and they were not returned. Does that mean he was cremated while in costume? Idk a better way to phrase it. I’m still traumatized 6 years later with how they removed him from the cuddle cot in suite.

Humans… we seem to get hung up on how we take the garbage out. It’s so nice and respectful how we have laws, regulations and policies regarding this kind of stuff. Entire industries dedicated to disposing bodies. Death is only a reminder for the living. For the dead, it’s moving on to the next (and final) phase of existence.

I heard you say plastic is not good for the machine (Foley caths & urine bags, etc). In Veterinary medicine, our cadaver bags are plastic. Isn't it the same for humans?
How do you mitigate the mess from the plastic?

It's not me tho. I'm off somewhere liberated of it so just do whatever works best for you.
