I kind of love how alongside the breaking of the brotherly bond between Ramases and Moses there's also a story of a growing brotherly bond between Moses and Aaron.

Fate worse than death: What does Ramases have to go back to? His subjects are desolate and heartbroken, his army is destroyed and more than anything his son is dead.

Does anyone realize the deep emotion between that final goodbye between Rameses and Moses? Rameses just drove away the only family he had left. That cry at the end is him begging for Moses to come back. It gets even sadder when Moses has to turn away from the brother who he grew up with all of his life. This is probably the saddest thing I never realized as a kid.

It stays such a heartbreaking moment.

Ramses' father told him then one weak link could break the chain of a mighty dynasty.
Ramses was so obsessed with proving himself not to be the weak link, that his stubbornness caused him to become the weak link. His refusal to simply let the Hebrews go resulted in pain and misery among the Egyptians.

1:55 I remember as a kid I was genuinely disturbed by Rameses, all alone, screaming for Moses. I can't imagine the pain he must've felt at that moment.

The voice acting in Ramses' final call to Moses is so great. You can hear the rage, the regret, and pain all at once.

Knowing what will happen next, Moses stopping to witness his people is heartbreaking.

That was both haunting and heartbreaking to see Ramses call out to Moses. Not to curse his name for all he's caused, but begging for the only family he had left to come back. 😞
