Boarding the Nieuw Statendam - Holland America Line - February 2020

We love to try new things... and of course new cruise ships! So we are boarding our first Holland America Line cruise on their newest ship, the Nieuw Statendam. First off, this ship is absolutely gorgeous!!! The layout is wonderful and we love the covered pool deck. We were super impressed by the spa so immediately signed up for a week pass to the thermal suite! And food... the food is fantastic starting with the burgers and hotdogs poolside... to the delicious buffet and great room service. We sailed away on the largest balcony we have ever had and left beautiful Ft. Lauderdale for a new adventure! Stay tuned for so much more to come!!!

WHAT, a lay down shower?? OMG.. The cannondball with gouda and apple wood smoked bacon? I'd be in heaven... wowza. Those fries at Dive In! Brioche buns!? Nathan's Dogs!? The tea varieties!? hand scooped ice cream?! My new dream vacation .. the 23 day from Italy to Ft Lauderdale Or the 10 day around the Med on this ship. Looks AMAZING!!!! I am finally watching this vlog series! I was waiting until I was closer to sailing on this beauty, and now on Sunday I will be boarding her for 14 amazing days. I see some similarities to the Koningsdam but there are some nice new touches that I am looking forward to enjoying. Thank you for giving me a sneak peak :)

I fall in love with HAL last year with the Koningsdam, similar to that one. Hope you discovered the pasta station in the buffet! You didn't mention that room service is totally complementary and hope you tried the breakfast in your room! It's amazing. The TV also shows the itinerary and expected weather per day. It is not a loud at all but it is still fun. Theater presentations could be disappointing...but other music venues were really good. Glad you are trying all cruise lines!

Wow and Wow!!! Those showers in the spa look phenomenal... straight outta sci-fi and the balcony shower looks better than mine at Home!!! The food looks amazing!!!! And the width of the room is certainly made up by its length!!! That balcony is massive 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Holland America is our favorite Cruise Line. We have a Cruise booked for end of February 2021 on this Ship! Praying and crossing fingers that Ships will be running finally after this Corona Virus! We sure do miss cruising. Thank you for sharing your cruise with us!!

I sailed on the MS Nieuw Statendam in March a week before the shut down. She really is a beautiful ship. Best buffet I've experienced to date. Glad you guys enjoyed HAL!
