Scion is a brand of vehicles produced by Toyota Motor Corporation for the North American market. Founded in 2002, Scion was introduced at the New York Auto Show to appeal to Generation Y consumers. The first Scion models, the xA hatchback and xB wagon, went on sale in California in 2003, followed by a sports coupe, the tC, and a nationwide U.S. launch in 2004.

A successor to the xA, the xD, premiered in 2008, and the Scion marque expanded to Canada in 2010. Scion currently has five models: the tC, xB, iQ, xD, and the FR-S. The Scion name, meaning the descendant of a family or heir, refers both to the brand's cars and their owners.

150HP is all Subaru could get out of this engine then Toyota came along worked there magic and got an extra 50HP

Subaru did a HUGE favor for scion with this car. Scion couldn't even get CLOSE to getting their cars to push 100hp/Liter with the tC/xB. They increased the engine displacement to 2.5L and were still under 200hp! Hopefully this beautifully engineered FR-S/BRZ sports car will be redemption for them because this is a bad ass car. I almost lost all hope for Scion makers and drivers.

Since the Subaru BRZ, Toyota 86/Scion frs/86 however you wanna call it. These cars are made from the collaboration of Toyota and Subaru. So Subaru sells the car as the brz and Toyota sells it as Toyota 86/Scion frs/86. The are some minor differences inside the car and the exterior between the two brands. Hopefully this is clear enough for you.

I agree.. They should make a sport variant.. Turbo or supercharged with 250-300hp would be just right! Then it would have enough grunt to drift at more than 25 mph! LOL!

Well its a Subaru/Toyota boxer engine so I wouldn't be surprised if Subaru had some influence in the rest of the car too.

yeah because I was saying that an rx-8 is a racing machine.. I said its better the Fr-s. and I have about 30, 000 bucks put into my rx-8 and I would race any car or bike on the road. and your saying the rx-8 has no style? it looks really nice. idk what kind of super cars your comparing it to.

March 2015. I visited a Toyota leadership and have one this ones
I really want the car, but spend 25K in it... too much
After talk with my wife and dad, they was agreed about the car . They told me " Do it, maybe is one time in your life, you love cars, you have the right age to enjoy it and you love driving" Go..
}But I was not 100% sure mainly for the money.
Untill I watch this commercial.

Next day... here is the cash. Full price non financing.
And i didn't regret it. Today 2022 I still love the car like the first day.

I think they should add like a sport version (Similar to the BRZ) but with more HP and more torque! For Example: 300 hp 200 ft-lbs of torque!

Great response, but let me ask you something; can you easily access any of the sparkplugs? No? Thought not.
Front mounted boxers are the most un-user friendly engines to work on in the history of cars. I'd rather work on a rotary than mess with a Sub-PAR-baru engine ever again. I love Toyota but they totally blew it with the engine choice for this car.

if I were to downgrade to a lesser sports car.. I would probably get the brz over the frs.

when issues come up with the car, I I think I would rather trust the subaru mechanics with years of boxer engine experience over a scion/toyota guy that just started working on them last year for the first time.

It has nothing to do with skill.. If you don't have enough power, it's quite simply impossible to maintain power on oversteer at progressively higher speeds.

It's why all the competitive drift cars need to have like 4-5- 600hp, or more. You're not going to be able to maintain a 60mph drift, big smoke and all that, with just 150tq and 200hp : )
