Webcam in obs not working need help?

Hi there i have a problem in OBS studio where my webcam does not show up in the preview screen But the cam is powered up anybody have a clue what is going on many Thanks

My workaround for this is: make sure all 3rd party webcam programs are closed (windows webcam etc), close and reopen obs, make a new vid capture device. Went from black screen to working at native resolution.

Im actually having trouble with my logitech which is why I found this lol

double click on the capture device, click on "Configure crossbar" then on the left side change "Video Svideo in" TO "Video composite In" then it should be back on! God Bless!

only fix i found out is to have your source selected. close OBS Studio. and then reopen it. this way it opens on your Selected source and the webcam will show. why is does that? i have no idea. but it sucks when youre streaming and want to switch games, you cant easily click the next source your other game is set to and have your web cam still work. you have to repeat those steps which unfortunately stops your broadcast =(

yoi need to make the resolution to 320x240 then it should work

i have 2 scenes that have a cam, 1 would work then when i switched back to the other it wouldn't work. I kinda fixed it you have to deactivate your cam on the scene that your not using then it will pop up on the the scene!

Ricks, I deleted all other scenes. After few secs my cam came back up again ;-)
All fine now!

Might be a application for restricted use only... "i think" oO Possible that the WebCam use in more scenes can be the problem.

After all, its a free download, right ;-)

i know the problem, so you need to go search 'graphics settings' and then go to 'add' and go to the obs file where you downloaded it and choose obs64 or obs32 and when you add it you go to options and choose power saving and then restart obs and then it will work hopefully for you (:

So i had a issue where my Mic/Camera was detected by my computer but no audio or video would come from it.

*For video*
In my case all i did was go to the properties page of my mic/camera (double click it in sources or right click for list)
and click default settings. thought if i were to guess what the actual problem was in my specific case. i'd say it was the buffering setting possibly. it works when i have it set to disabled or auto detect but not if enabled.

*For Audio*
clicking on the "Gear" on the right side of Mic/Aux>Properties>devices (drop down) and picking the mic i wanted to use.
this allows me to record my voice without having the video from the camera showing.

if i wanted that go to properties of the mic/camera you have and at the bottom it should say use custom audio device.
then simply pic what you want to use.
this is of course assuming your computer properly detected your device to begin with.

on your gray screen, my webcam shows up but in the actual preview it doesent :(

Multiple people have mentioned this already, but just in case anybody needs more detailed instructions...
You right click your Webcam or Video Capture Device source from your list of sources, then you set the "Resolution/FPS Type" to "Custom".
Then, in the resolution box you change it to a resolution such as 320x240.

Just make the resolution something lower than the default. Right click - > Properties - > Resolution then 800x600 or lower < - at least for me

My problem doesnt seem to be mentioned by anyone, my webcam shows up fine in preview and everything but when I hit record and go into my gameplay the webcam doesnt show up in the recorded video.
