I actually understand how you did that
1.make it detect when you are on the portal base
2.make sonic boom particles regularly exist there
3.make detection teleport you to other portal

You should add a on off system for the commands so you can turn the portal on/off

I may not be accurate, but I bet you dig a 3x3 hole, added 4 command blocks, and used an armor stand too
