As a viewer seeing units like mothership being made costing so much and taking so long to make being instantly abducted or forced to stay away from main army because of vipers was silly

Even if we still disagree with some of the updates, it's a great sign that the council is responsive to feedback.

9:30 I'm all for Mothership being more popular late game. It's always been intended to be a really exciting unit. I think Zerg having to warp their game around it a bit instead of just popping out 2 Vipers is what the Mothership is meant to be.

I know meme-ing the council is popular right now, but them listening for the first(?) time from the feedback of the community deserves some acknowledgement. Definitely a step in the right direction. Thanks Lowko for airing out the community’s grievances!

Regarding the unabductable Mothership: This would have been a terrible idea back when cloak was constant. Now that cloaking is not constant, it is still a huge buff, but might not be broken. I'm willing to reserve judgement until I see some games.

@Lowko Dash does not imply legs, it just means to move quickly, with a sudden burst of speed. As a native English speaker I see no issue with letting Hydras (or even floating units) have an ability called "Dash". Think of the song Jingle Bells and its opening line "Dashing through the snow in a one-horse open sleigh". A sleigh doesn't have legs, but you can still dash in one, because it just means "to move quickly".

Actually surprising that they got the one intern to come back in an extra day to make changes again.

All the other times it went straight to live.

Glad you mentioned the tempest range issue.
Now that libs have been reverted back to their +2 range instead of increased radius (+1.25 range) I don't see why tempest should lose range yet again.

I wish they would have kept the brood lord bug fix in but reverted the other changes for the unit.

The best part was a more consistent unit which should be a priority.

7:22 Really they had to include that 'despite multiple targeted nerfs in recent years' part when almost all ghost nerfs came with compensation buffs. The EMP change is a good example. At that point ghost had more *adjustments* than nerfs.

The supply change on ghost is probably one of the most tasteful ways address the issue. It will still reduce the horror of mass snipe against zerg while still keeping them extremely useful in the match up

I like it that they listened, but I can't help but find it amusing how more than half of these are just "changes removed".

I'm happier with this. The Blue Flame buff was pretty hard for me to play against personally as a Zerg. It felt like I couldn't really recover economically from the harass and the rest of the game was just a mad scramble. Abduct not hitting Mothership is going to make taking out the unit rough, but at the same time, it's hard to be mad about it because it is a flying city and things like Neural Parasite already don't work on Ultras. It's worth reminding people that Microbial Shroud is a powerful ability that halves air-to-ground damage so it's not like Zerg is missing tools, and Fungal works against the Mothership also. I'm the happiest about the Liberator buff being removed since dealing with it was pure insanity.

100% agree that abduct shouldn't affect the mothership. Additionally, snipe shouldn't hit ultras.

here is a fun idea for a ghost change: cloaking is innately available, but the emp now has to be researched form the academy

The Explosive Payload change seems to be something done to give Terrans a direct damage air splash option that isn't a complete joke like Liberator air attacks. That being said, mass marine is so effective at bulldozing down air units anyways that air splash was never really needed with Terrans because "Man with gun go brrrr" still works.

Lib changes was weird and I am glad they removed them (even if my main is terran). Blue flame change removal also good. More for lower level games. I felt that blue flame helion drops could be devastating for lower level players.

BTW - One of the reasons previous patches were not changed much after initial proposal might be that no one played PTR. This time seems like it is actually tested a lot even with few small tournaments been played.

Is it that difficult to understand the extreme power of the ghost with EMP being a ranged insta-cast that evaporates 50% protoss life points (shields) instantly during a battle? You need more life points DURING a battle, so it's irrelevant that they can restore them outside of combat.

Wouldn't it be easier to straight up nerf that ability? Instead of finding workarounds that are not necessarily addressing the root cause and could have other unintended consequences?

Suggestion. EMP should reduce shields by 50%. In that way, it's still remarkably usefull on combat, but you require two EMPs (and twice the energy) to achieve the same result. You could further adjust it later on until it's balanced.
