This lightning rod thing is an interesting theory, but I'm still kinda sad he's dropping out. Honestly I like the guy. I might be a registered Republican but I genuinely like the president. I might not see eye to eye with everything he thinks, but he's been a good president and I thought he would beat Trump but maybe not. I don't know. I will vote against Trump no matter what.

Just watched Vaush's livestream, and there is a Fox News clip at the start in which you get to see Steven Miller _absolutely losing his sh!t_ over the switch to Harris. Dude would have been pulling out his hair if he had any. That alone seems like a tremendous victory right there. 😄💐

Just another thought; Biden is recovering from Covid. Depending on the severity, it can take a lot of wind out of one's sails. Especially at 81 years old.
On top of stagnant poll numbers, lack of voter enthusiasm, and many talking heads/ pundits saying he should drop his bid after a poor debate performance, maybe he realized it's time to pass the torch.
I look at his decision as an honorable act and a show of integrity.

I don't believe the lightning rod theory. He really was the best nan for the job in 2020, and is now. I was going to support him until the end, but even I felt, when it was announced he had covid, he needs to step down. I feared for his life. As an old fart myself, I know how long term stress can take a toll. I was afraid he wouldn't live out 4 more years. I'd rather he pass the baton to Kamala, focus on his presidency and getting more done than losing him. He deserves to peacefully go home to his family knowing he was the best President we've had, bar none. He did a heroic, selfless thing. Harris 2024💙
