MY BACK PAGES--THE BYRDS (NEW ENHANCED VERSION)

I knew I'd get around to doing this Byrds classic since I locared my clean digital copy. This thing I was concerned was adding another lead part to go with the original that sounds like it belongs there. That took an hour of guitar (Epiphone electric) to figure that out. The right channel needed another electric guitar on the right across the entire track. I left the drums totally original and just added a tambourine on the left channel (except middle) and made the
harmonies into stereo! Hope you oldies fans like it! Kenn

"My Back Pages" was written by Robert Zimmerman circa 07/1964, and it appeared on the album, "Another Side of Bob Dylan" two months later. Allegedly, it was a swan song to the counter culture movement. It was resurrected by the Byrds on 02/1967 on the album, "Younger than Yesterday", featuring Roger McGuinn's atomic-powered 12 string Ric. Of course, lyrics are open to interpretation, but it would seem to me to be a cautionary tale of a man gifted with limitless potential who in the end reflects upon a life squandered in abysmal mediocrity. It is a haunting tune that raises the hair on the back of my neck every single time I hear it...

Most IMPORTANT song the Byrds ever recorded and your enhanced version is magical. I dont know what you do from a technical standpoint to enhance these old classics, but you have a gift, good sir. Keep it up...

I stand humbled each time I listen to a recording enhanced by Kenn. It's as if I am transported back in time to when it was first released and hardly noticing the details of how I got there. Such a magnificent art of adding depth and quality to those old scratchy vinyls. I used to listen through a lefty-ear-only mono head phone when i worked in a rock 'n roll AM radio station in the late '60s. Playing these enhanced versions now sorta takes my breath away. The difference is THAT noticeable. Thanks, Kenn.

How can perfection be improved? You've just done it, with one of my favorite tunes through my lifetime. Just jingles.

GDI, I've always loved this song, despite the others. The heavy guitar always captured us who have lived back then. UGH!!! Gotta love YOU
