Spending some extra time planning out your food plot setup can greatly increase your hunting success. How many acres will you have to accompany the 5 acre food plot? Its possible to hold and manage deer on less than 350 acres, but there's no guarantees. Good luck with all your planning, work, and effort.

I have 40 acres surrounded by state land on all sides. Am I wasting my time creating a food plot? If not what size would you recommend?
